The big little company
We’re big enough to trust and small enough to care. We started building g&w homes in 2001. But our experience goes back much further than that. g&w’s founding partners, Matthew Greenwood and Antony Wood, had many years of senior level experience with national housebuilding companies. So they knew how to get it right, and even more importantly how it could go wrong!

g&w set out to build great houses for people to really enjoy living in. Keeping a tight team of experienced people is vital to constantly achieving that aim. Everyone at g&w has that aim in mind, from the guys and girls on site, back to our central office in Halifax. We want to see g&w buyers with smiles on their faces.

Your home is your biggest investment and it forms a huge part of your lifestyle. We strive to make a g&w home your ideal choice. Our designs suit different people: families; singles; couples. As each g&w home site is a one-off, it’s tailored to fit with the local area and provide great individual homes.

Whether they are family homes, starter homes or contemporary apartments, they are all built to exacting standards of workmanship. In addition we believe the fittings and finishes in a g&w home are way beyond other similarly priced houses.

We try to make our home sites part of the neighbourhood. Talking to the planners and the local community at an early stage is important. Many of our home sites have regenerated land that we found in a pretty sad state. Improving the local environment helps everyone. We’re always looking out for land for g&w homes. Building is a pretty complex affair, involving lots of different people with different skills and trades. No one’s perfect, we all make mistakes. We want to know if we’ve gone wrong and we do everything we can to put it right. After all, a happy g&w buyer is more likely to recommend our homes to others.
